Once Noelle had settled in, she immediately began looking for Taylor. The other girl hadn't greeted Noelle when she first got here, and of course, Noelle wasn't going to take that sitting down. But she knew that things weren't good between to two of them. Their last conversation involved Noelle yelling at Taylor. Noelle hadn't really meant to, but she was scared that Taylor would spill the beans about what they did that night. Not that she'd ever admit she was worried, of course.
Their first meeting went alright. Taylor had been a little reluctant to let Noelle into her dormroom, but eventually gave in. Although Noelle wanted to talk about what happened, Taylor wasn't really in the mood just yet, so they talked caught up with each other; Taylor telling her about Aiode Falls and Noelle telling about her stay at a juvenile rehabilitation centre.
They talked to each other over the week, finally talking about the incident. Noelle, in a rare moment, apologize to Taylor, who forgave her. Although they made up, Noelle sometimes insulted Taylor, though she tries to keep them to a minimum. But she couldn't help it. It was a habit that she couldn't break. And when both girls heard of the carnival, they decided to go together and have some fun.
Walking together, they made their way through the carnival grounds, having just arrived. "So what do you want to do first?" Noelle asked once they had gotten their tickets, "we can go on the rides or play some games." She was about to add something about it being a little juvenile but held her tongue.
Taylor paused, glancing around that caught her interest. "Oh my God, look at that, it's so cute!" she squealed, pointing to a stuffed animal at the water gun racing game booth, which was a small white kitten with a pink bow and collar. "I'm going to go win it." She left Noelle, who rolled her eyes. Luckily, Taylor didn't see.
"Are you going to play?" the game operator asked Noelle once she arrived. She paused for a moment, then shrugged. "Sure, why not?" she replied to him.
"Okay, we have another player! Anyone else?" He waited for a few moments. Noelle noticed that there were three other people playing besides her and Taylor. Then the game operator said, "Okay, let's begin! You know the rules. Aim for the target with your watergun. The first person to pop their balloon wins! Ready? Set. Go!"
Noelle pulled the tigger, already on the target and was soon ahead of the rest, except for the guy two spaces to her left. He was catching up, but Noelle's balloon was the first to pop.
"We have a winner! Pick your prize."
"I'll have the cat," Noelle said, pointing to the white kitten Taylor had spotted. As soon as she was handed her prize, she and Taylor walked off.
"No fair! I really wanted that kitten," Taylor pouted.
"Here then, you can have it." Noelle tossed the stuffed animal to Taylor, who wasn't ready but managed to catch it.
Taylor's frown immediately faded and she grinned at her friend. "Oh wow, thank you so much, Noelle!" she gushed, hugging Noelle.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't mention it," Noelle rolled her eyes again. Then she smiled, putting an arm around Taylor.
"So what do you want to do next?" Taylor asked once she pulled away.
"Let's go on the ferris wheel," Noelle suggested. Taylor nodded in agreement, and the two girls began to make their way towards the ride.
"So is it true that this place -" Noelle had turned to Taylor and wasn't really paying attention to where she was going and bumped into someone pretty hard. "Ow! Watch it!" Noelle glared at the person, rubbing her arm.
"Sorry about that," Taylor said, ignoring Noelle who was mad at Taylor for apologizing. "You're not hurt or anything, are you?"
